Move over “other sports drinks” – BODYARMOR wins our vote!
We are a family of pretty active people – but none more than my teens! They both play sports year round, and when they are not playing, we are playing as a family. We love hiking, kayaking, and just about anything you can think of that involves the outdoors. And that means we HAVE to stay hydrated and be aware of what we are putting in our bodies at all times.
My kids think I am a nutcase because I am ALWAYS hounding them about drinking more and staying hydrated, no matter what they are doing! But – I do not love any of the sports drinks that are the usual “go to” for hydration. My husband is always telling them to “grab some Gatorade” when they hit the store. His argument is that it is “full of electrolytes.” I call BS. It may be! But it is also PACKED with sugar and other garbage that I am not okay with my kids putting in their bodies.
That doesn’t eliminate the problem, though. I know how important hydration is to our bodies and with us being so active – we needed an alternative to Gatorade. BODYARMOR is now our alternative. Seriously, if you have not tried this brand you need to do it – like yesterday!
BODYARMOR is a natural sports drink with more potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water, and vitamins. It is low in sodium and contains natural flavors, natural sweeteners, and no artificial colors – this is a HUGE deal to us. It’s a GREAT choice for young athletes especially, who don’t need all the extra sodium in their diets or the artificial ingredients that come from drinking other sports drinks on the market. It comes in 8-great tasting flavors: fruit punch, orange mango, strawberry banana, tropical punch, lemon-lime, mixed berry, grape, and blackout berry.
I was pleasantly surprised at the ingredients and even relieved to know that we had found an alternative to Gatorade or PowerAde. We are all super picky about taste, but I am probably the absolute worst. I am one of those weirdos who loves water and I would basically have to be dying to pick up a drink like Gatorade, PowerAde, Kool-Aid – you get the point. But I actually loved the taste of BODYARMOR! Maybe because it was less sweet and more refreshing than most other drinks meant for hydration. Strawberry-Banana was AWESOME!
My kids absolutely LOVED it and my husband was on board too. I think their favorite was the Orange Mango. We absolutely have changed our hydration drink – I would say sports drink, but for us, it’s more than that. Add to all of this, the fact that it is gluten free – WINNER WINNER!
If you want to give it a shot, download this coupon to save some cash – you will thank me later. My daughter actually said to me the other day “Mom! I saw those new sports drinks at the gas station.” I was thankful to know they are easily found in our area and a little sad that we had not given them a try sooner! We found them at Kum and Go stores, Harps, and Walgreens around here. But when I looked, I found that they are in MANY locations locally!
You can check on their store locator to see if they are in your area, too! Do you have a favorite go-to hydration drink or have you ever tried the BODYARMOR drinks?

I found these at target. I absolutely love them, so I came back and bought every flavor. ❤️
Oh my gosh, I had no idea they carried them at Target! I am going to have to take a look. My daughter has started her Volleyball season for HS, and I wanted to find them in bulk. I am still a big proponent of just drinking water. But I know that sometimes you really do need those extra electrolytes and vitamins. So far, this is probably the BEST alternative that I have found. I do not know another sports drink that has so little sugar and bad ingredients.
I’ve heard of Body Armor but just ignored it as it sounded like all other hydrating drinks. But after reading this review, I’ll take a closer look at it!
